Für viele mag es vielleicht nicht bekannt sein, aber die Malediver spielen auch Fussball. Letzten Samstag fand ein Freundschaftsspiel zwischen den U23-Nationalmannschaften von den Malediven und Malysia in Kelana Jaya nahe Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia statt, und die maledivischen Kicker konnten sich docht tatsächlich mit 1:0 durchsetzen. Das entscheidende Tor erzielte der Skipper Assad Abdul Ghani in der 47. Spielminute.
