Der Hafen von Male erhält in Kürze eine neue Hafenmanagement-Software. Die Firma IBS Software Services aus Indien hat den Auftrag bekommen, ihre Management-Software iPort in das Hafenmanagement von Male zu implementieren. Damit soll die Durchlaufzeit von Schiffen und Ladung verringert werden. Die Software wird bislang erfolgreich in den drei Haupthäfen der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate erfolgreich eingesetzt.
Der Seehafen in Male wurde im Jahre 2005 eröffnet und ist heute der Haupthafen der Malediven. Er hat eine Länge von 101,3 Metern und eine Tiefe von 10,2 Metern.
